Our University News ( International Exchange and Cooperation of Office , Li Qinqin)On the morning of April 17, 2026, Vice Rector Ye Guiping of City University of Macau and his delegation visited our university for exchange, aiming to deepen Guangdong-Macao inter-university collaboration and jointly explore new paths for talent cultivation and academic cooperation. Vice Chairman of the University Board Liang Jiaxi, along with responsible representatives from the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, the Academic Affairs Office, and the School of Foreign Studies, warmly received the guests.

On the morning of the same day, the inter-university symposium was held in Meeting Room No. 3 of the Administration Building at our university. On behalf of the university, Vice Chairman Liang Jiaxi extended a warm welcome to Vice Rector Ye Guiping and his delegation. He noted that our university highly appreciates the educational strength and achievements of City University of Macau, and that this visit has laid a solid foundation for deepening collaboration between the two institutions. He expressed his hope for practical cooperation in areas such as student exchange, faculty development, and academic collaboration in the future, jointly promoting innovative development in higher education.
During the meeting, Li Xiuchen, Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, briefly introduced our university's development overview and educational characteristics. Subsequently, the delegation from City University of Macau presented the university's overall academic profile and the disciplinary strengths of its Portuguese-Speaking Countries Research Institute. Vice Rector Ye Guiping further clarified the core directions for future collaboration between the two universities and proposed a number of specific cooperation initiatives: In terms of talent cultivation, City University of Macau will offer five recommendation-based, entrance-exam-waived admission slots for our university's graduates to pursue master's degree programs in Portuguese-Speaking Countries Studies and International Relations & Government Governance; encourage our faculty members to pursue doctoral degrees at City University of Macau; and invite our students to participate in the summer international study programs at City University of Macau's International Academy. In terms of academic research, the two universities will support joint academic forums and collaborative research projects between their faculty and students. In terms of social service, focusing on patriotic education centered on love for Macau and love for China, as well as the preservation and promotion of outstanding traditional Chinese culture, they will jointly organize student exchange and visit activities to foster a strong sense of national and family commitment among young students.
During the exchange and discussion session, Cao Dechun, Dean of the School of Foreign Studies, introduced the school's academic programs and educational profile, expressing interest in cooperation in areas such as language teaching and regional and country-specific studies. The two sides held in-depth discussions on concrete measures for implementing cooperation and corresponding mechanisms, agreeing that regular communication channels should be established as soon as possible to steadily translate all cooperation intentions into practice.
This visit and exchange have further enhanced the mutual understanding between the two universities, solidified the foundation for in-depth future cooperation, contributed to the coordinated development of higher education in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and injected new momentum into the high-quality development of educational endeavors at both institutions.
