Business English Program

Background & Vision

As China’s leading international trade province, Guangdong hosts over 2.45 million foreign trade enterprises and serves as headquarters for numerous world-class corporations, generating sustained demand for professionals combining English proficiency with international trade expertise.

Established in 2012 with Ministry of Education approval and enrolling its first cohort in 2013, our Business English program operates under the provincial Key Cultivation Discipline of English Language and Literature. In 2019, we were designated among the first Provincial First-Class Undergraduate Major Construction Programs.

Serving the Greater Bay Area, we cultivate interdisciplinary talents proficient in English, Economics, and Management, ready for roles in international trade, cross-border e-commerce, overseas social media operations, and translation within global enterprises and government bodies.

Three Specialized Tracks

International Faculty Excellence

We have a strong team of 24 Chinese teachers (42% with senior titles, 58% dual-qualified, 80% overseas experience) and 36 foreign teachers from nearly 20 countries.

Methodology: Small-sized oral classes (15-18 students) ensure personalized interaction and authentic language development.

Beyond classroom instruction, foreign teachers actively engage with campus life through diverse initiatives. They serve as mentors, judges, or athletes in school events including foreign language drama competitions, English speech contests, and competitive sports, seamlessly integrating into students’ extracurricular experiences. Additionally, we also recruit student interns and volunteers annually to assist them with various matters. Through frequent interactions with these educators, students demonstrate significant progress in language fluency, cross-cultural communication skills, and international social competence. “Peizheng Oral English” is becoming a recognized hallmark of our graduates.

The outstanding teaching outcomes of foreign teachers stem from three key factors: their native language proficiency, professional dedication, as well as their commitment to continuous improvement. They regularly hold collaborative lesson planning sessions and periodically collaborate with Chinese teachers to conduct teaching and academic seminars. Through these initiatives, they continuously enhance their academic expertise, providing a sustainable driving force for both classroom instruction and extracurricular teaching activities.

Industry Partnerships

We have established 19 off-campus practice bases, including those at the China Foreign Trade Centre (Canton Fair), Alibaba International Station in South China, and Guangzhou Excellence Education Group. The Canton Fair program, exceptional among China’s 1,000+ foreign language and international trade programs, has operated since 2004, selecting 400+ students annually for 15-90 day internships. We are the largest participant among six Guangdong universities authorized for this program, earning consistent recognition from Fair organizers. This experience significantly boosts students’ oral proficiency, cross-cultural skills, and employability.
