The School of Arts at Guangdong Peizheng College (formerly the Department of Art and Design) was established in 2004. With over two decades of educational development, it now offers six undergraduate programs: Painting, Visual Communication Design, Arts and Crafts, Fashion and Accessory Design, Environmental Design, and Cultural Industry Management. The School has nearly 1,700 enrolled students. All faculty members hold master's degrees or above, forming a well-structured teaching team.

The School focuses on cultivating interdisciplinary and application-oriented talents, developing students' comprehensive artistic practice and innovation capabilities. Guided by social needs and built upon faculty development, the School places students at the center to deepen educational and teaching reforms. Centering on the educational philosophy of "Business as the Foundation, Lacquer Art as the Specialty," the School has established the educational approach of "Promoting Teaching through Exhibitions, Encouraging Learning through Competitions, Outcome-Based Education, and Collaborative Talent Development," pursuing a path of art education that is "Differentiated, Specialized, Branded, and Team-Oriented."

The Experimental Teaching Center for Art and Design of the School of Arts is a provincial-level experimental teaching demonstration center in Guangdong Province. It houses the Lacquer Art Laboratory, Graphic and Image Production Laboratory, XR Studio Hall, Environmental Design 3D Printing Laboratory, Fashion and Bag Design and Production Laboratory, Ceramic Art Laboratory, Gemstone Carving Laboratory, and other specialized facilities.

The "Guangdong Lacquer Art Inheritance Base" has been approved as a Guangdong University Excellent Traditional Chinese Culture Inheritance Base. The "Guangdong Lacquer Art Research Center" has been approved as a Key Research Base of Humanities and Social Sciences at regular higher education institutions in Guangdong Province. The course "Lacquer Painting I" has been approved as a national first-class undergraduate course. The lacquer art talent cultivation system was awarded the Second Prize for Provincial Excellent Teaching Achievement in Guangdong. The Painting program has been approved as a provincial first-class program and featured program construction site in Guangdong. The Liu Fei Lacquer Art Innovation Studio has been named a Model Worker and Craftsman Talent Innovation Studio by the Guangdong Provincial Federation of Trade Unions.

Faculty members' works have been collected by institutions such as the National Art Museum of China. Students' works from the Painting and Arts and Crafts programs have won or been selected for over a hundred national and provincial art exhibitions. Visual Communication Design students' works have won Gold Awards at the National College Student Advertising Art Competition and the College Awards of the China Student Advertising Art Festival. Fashion and Accessory Design students' works have won Gold Awards at the National College Student Fashion Design Competition and the China International Bag Design Competition. Environmental Design students' works have won the China Human Settlements Design Academic Year Award. Cultural Industry Management students' works have won the First Prize at the National College Student Art Exhibition, and the lacquer art innovation and entrepreneurship project has won the Bronze Award at the Guangdong Division Finals of the China International "Internet+" College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.

Against the backdrop of the New Liberal Arts initiative, the School of Arts takes lacquer art as a bond to promote interdisciplinary integration and has constructed an innovative art education and teaching model.
